Pirkanmaan Matkailu / Visit Pirkanmaa is the Finnish member in IVV – the International Volkssport Association. Visit Pirkanmaa acts as the organizer of the Tampere IVV Olympiads.

Visit Pirkanmaa’s official partners in the IVV Olympiads are the sport associations: Hämeen Liikunta ja Urheilu, Tampereen Taivaltajat, Uinti Tampere, Tampereen Pyrintö, Tampereen Vihuri ja Hiking Travel, Hit Ky, Vaasa Walking Club and Tampere City Event Office and Visit Tampere.

Tourist information and infrastructure

Visit Tampere Tampere and City Event Office

The IVV Olympiads will be held in Tampere. Tampere is Finland’s largest inland water city and a favorite destination for domestic and international tourists. The Tampere City Event Office is responsible for the Olympic infrastructure. Visit Tampere at Tampere region tourism generalist – from whom you can get travel advice, try things out and much more.

Tampereen Taivaltajat

Tampereen Taivaltajat ry on vuonna 1958 perustettu kuntoliikunnan ja retkeilyn
parissa toimiva Suomen Ladun jäsenyhdistys.

The association’s mission is to make physical activity in nature a common practice among citizens. It organizes a wide range of sport events, excursions, hikes, and related lectures.

The main activities include X-country skiing, walking, volleyball, cycling, and canoeing. In addition, the association offers family-oriented activities and various training courses, such as first aid and orienteering skills training.

Uinti Tampere

Uinti Tampere is a competitive swimming club aiming at top swimming, whose vision is to be the best in Finland.

The foundation of the club is swimming skills and the joy of exercise.

Every club member, swimmer, parent, employee and coach is part of the common, green UiTa family.

The Kaukajärvi sauna, maintained by Uinti Tampere, is a year-round public sauna located on the shores of the clear-watered Kaukajärvi. The sauna offers plenty of space, allowing you to enjoy the steam and natural waters in a relaxed setting throughout all seasons.

Tampereen Pyrintö

Pyrintö, founded in 1896, is Tampere’s leading general sports club. The club’s mission is to promote physical activity within its operating area, encouraging as many members as possible to engage in fitness, competitive, or elite sports according to their abilities and needs, and to participate in the club’s administration, coaching, or other activities.

Throughout its history, the club has achieved 27 Olympic medals.

Tampereen Vihuri

Tampereen Vihuri is the largest and one of the most versatile kayaking and canoeing clubs in the whole of Finland, founded in 1947.

The club includes tour, racing and whitewater kayaking and canoeing enthusiasts as well as kayak polo players.

In 2024, Vihuri received the Starclub certificates as proof of high-quality hobby and sports activities for adults, children and young people.
